Margaret Elizabeth "Maggie" Miller was born in Old Town Indianola, Calhoun County, Texas on the 9th of February of 1864. She was the daughter of James Miller, a native of Baltimore, Maryland and Frederica Augusta Carolina Weinrich, a native of Prussia. On the 30th of August of 1887, Maggie married John Franklin Wilkerson in Louise, Wharton County, Texas. John Franklin Wilkerson (also born in Old Indianola) was the son of John W. Wilkerson, a native of Biloxi, Mississippi (or Alabama) and Mary Ann Atzenhoffer, a native of New York. John Franklin and Maggie were the parents of 8 children (we know the names of seven): Kathleen May, Jake George, Johnny Wakefield, Maggie Belle, Clyde Baron, Pearl and Allen Morgan. Maggie died at her home on 711 Stimpson Street in Pelly, Harris County, Texas on the 12th of April of 1943. She was buried on the 13th of April of 1943 in Cedarcrest Cemetery, Cedar Bayou (Baytown), Harris County, Texas.
