Cecil Thomas Akin was killed in an auto accident Wednesday night near Bowling Green, when the car in which he was riding collided with a truck. Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m.Saturday at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, with burial in Hogard cemetery. Rev. Manley Towles will be in charge of the services. The son of Mrs. Rosie Sharp and Arvin Norman Akin, he was born in Green County March 25, 1915. Before moving to Bowling Green, where he was living, he was employed at the Grimsley Grocery here and later operated a filling station on Summersville road. He was united in marriage July 27,1935 to Miss Olive Bell and to this union 3 daughters were born, Anna Bell, Judith Marie and Janice, all of Bowling Green. He professed faith in Christ when he was 14 years old. Surviving besides his wife and daughters and parents are one sister, Ruth Akin, Louisville; one brother, Finis Akin, Green County. Remains will be at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Owen Wright, Amos Wright, Pete Wright, Garnet Gupton, J. W. Coakley and Hermon Bell.
