Ronald Wayne Ponton, 47, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died in his sleep at his home Saturday, January 8, 2011. Ronald was born the youngest of three children to Gene Edward Ponton and Frances Christine Smith on January 17, 1963 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He attended Richard King High School and was a member of Saint Pius X Catholic Church. Ronald was a loving son and brother who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Gene Edward Ponton and Frances Christine Smith.

Ronald is survived by his sister, Sharon Jean Moore (Pat); brothers, Jerrel L. Ponton and James E. Ponton; girlfriend, Jamie Gingerich; as well as his dogs, Foxy and Billy Bob.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Seaside Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Ronald Wayne Ponton, 47, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died in his sleep at his home Saturday, January 8, 2011.
