Mrs. Agnes Cook Armstrong, age 89, of West McCarty Street in Sandersville died Tuesday, September 26, 1995 in the Extended Care Facility of Memorial Hospital of Washington County following an extended illness

Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 1995 in the First Baptist Church of Sandersville. The Rev. Dan McPherson officiated. Burial was in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.

Mrs. Armstrong was a native of Greene County, the daughter of the late Julius Lawrence Cook and the late Mamie Clements Cook. She was the wife of the late Thomas Green Armstrong. Mrs. Armstrong was a nurse's assistant at Memorial Hospital and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sandersville.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Janice Armstrong Brown of Warthen; a son, Billy Thurston Armstrong of Augusta; two sisters, Mrs. Irma Veal of Monroe and Mrs. Ellen Lord of Augusta; a brother, Julius L. "Pup" Cook of Sandersville; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild.
