Remains of Wade Knight Returned Here For Burial

The remains of Wade Knight, who died in Fitzsimons General Hospital in Denver, Colorado, arrived here last Sunday and burial was made in Ridgewood, the new Carthage cemetery, Monday afternoon after funeral services had been conducted from the Carthage Methodist church by Rev. B. F. Isom, pastor, assisted by Rev. J. L. Smotherman.

Mr. Knight, who was 36 years of age, spent most of his life in and about Carthage. He was a son of the late Ridley Knight, who preceded him to the grave some nine years ago, and Mrs. Nancy Knight. Besides his mother he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Effie Massey Knight; a twelve year old son, Nathan Knight; three brothers Ed and Ira Knight of Nashville; Tom Knight of Marion, N. Y.; four sisters, Mrs. T. H. Robinson, of Hopewell, Tenn.; Mrs. H. B. Gibbs of Bon Aqua, Tenn.; Mrs. Lethia Smith and Mrs. Benton Gibbs of Nashville.

During the World War Mr. Knight enlisted in the army and went to France where he saw service for several months. About a year ago he and his family moved to Colorado for the benefit of his health. He was a young man of fine character and a Christian gentleman. He had many friends who extend deepest sympathy to members of his family in their bereavement.

The pallbearers were Vance Pettross, Marvin Pettross, Reggie Pettross and Leon Pettross, all brothers, who were cousins to deceased, and Dewey and Irby Knight, also brothers, and cousins to the deceased.
