Everett Paine, 68
Everett S. Paine, 68, of Blair, Nebraska, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at his home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
Everett S. Paine was born March 10, 1931, to Andrew and Helen (Grimm) Paine in Lyons, Nebraska. He attended school in rural Lyons and graduated from Blair High School in 1949. He farmed west of Blair and then worked for Miller-Rolland Furniture Store. For the last 20 years he worked for the City of Blair and served as street commissioner since 1994. In February of 1952 he entered the armed forces and served in the army during the Korean Strife. On April 27, 1973, he married Mary Ann Ferzley.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion and VFW and served on the Blair Fire Department and Rescue Squad.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; a son, Mike Story of Blair; a daughter and son-in-law, Colleen and Steve Kunzman of Grand Island; two granddaughters, Gabriella and Courtney Kunzman; special family member, Brenda Stewart of Omaha; five sisters, Lois Widmark of Ivanhoe, Minn. Evelyn green of Silver Springs, Md.; Verna Vanek of Lincoln; Tessa Haas of Searcy, Ark.; and Carol Noel of St. Paul; one brother, Lowell Paine of Lakewood, Colo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Hildreth.
