She was born April 22, 1926 in Huntsville, Ala., and moved to Lorain when she was 3 years old.
She attended Lorain High School and graduated from Admiral King and studied at Central State University, Lorain County Community College and the Shulet Institution in Brooklyn, N.Y.
She was a self-employed child-care provider for over 35 years.
She was a member of Greater St. Matthews AME Church in Lorain, where she was involved in bible study and evening music programs for the youth. She enjoyed ballet and harp instruction, designing dresses, bowling, and jazz concerts.
Survivors include her sister, Eunice Scott (nee Clark), daughter Constance Thomas (nee Crisp); stepdaughter Angela Guice (nee Crisp); and two grandchildren, four great-grandsons and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Brown-Robinson Funeral Home, 2652 Broadway, Lorain. A funeral will be held at Greater St. Matthews AME Church, 1909 W. 24th St., Lorain, on Monday at 11 a.m. The Rev. John Newby will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
