Madge Marie Baker Kilgore passed away peacefully on Sunday (May 12, 2002) while a resident of Outlook Pointe in Kingsport.

Madge was born near Kyles Ford, Hancock County, on June 29, 1914, but lived her entire adult life in Kingsport with her husband, Eugene P. Kilgore.

Madge was a faithful member of Mafair United Methodist Church, but also enjoyed attending Higher Ground Baptist Church on many special occasions. She was a devoted Dobyns-Bennett High School fan and had been recognized and awarded the Fan of the Year in 1991 and in 2001.

Madge had served many years as a Holston Valley Auxiliary Pink Lady and as a volunteer for many civic and charitable causes in the Kingsport area. She had retired from teaching in the Kingsport City school system where she had taught for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene P. Kilgore; her beloved granddaughter, Leanna Marie Rasnic; her father and mother, Dr. Joseph Kyle Baker and Minnie Robinette Baker; and four brothers, Gale Baker, Guy Baker, Howell Baker and Rufus Baker.

Survivors include her only daughter, Gailya Kilgore Rasnic and her husband Thomas L. Rasnic of Kingsport; two grandsons, James E. Rasnic and his wife Katherine of Bristol, and Dr. Timothy L. Rasnic and his wife Elizabeth of Stickleyville, Va.; four great-grandchildren, William Thomas Rasnic and Katelyn Elizabeth Rasnic of Bristol, and Chelsea Leann Rasnic and Thomas Logan Rasnic of Stickleyville, Va.; three stepgreat-grandchildren, Richard Justin Peters, Nathanael Jared Peters and Megan Elizabeth Peters of Bristol; one special niece, Barbara Stout of Kingsport; and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Calling hours are from 5:30 to 7 p.m. today at Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home, downtown.

Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Highland Cemetery in Rogersville.

Dr. Timothy Rasnic, James E. Rasnic, William Rasnic, A.J. Stout, Bob Mullins and Paul Shelton will serve as pallbearers.

A very special thank you to ALL employees at Outlook Pointe. Their love, support and gentle spirits will always be remembered in our hearts.
