Charles W. Kelly Jr., little son of Mr. & Mrs. C.W. Kelly of near Nelson Park, died shortly after 6 o'clock Friday evening at the Decatur & Macon county hospital. He was six years old. His death was caused by meningitis. Last Saturday the little boy's ear showed signs of infection but it was not thought to be of a serious nature and he was permitted to attend school as usual on Monday. His condition became worse during the week and on early Friday he was taken to the hospital. The infection had spread rapidly and involved the brain and he died shortly after being taken to the hospital. Mr. Kelly, the boy's father, is proprieter of the grocery store at 2018 East William street. The boy is survived by his parents and the following sisters and brothers: Marietta W. Kelly, Annabell Kelly, George William Kelly, Leo M. Kelly, Benjamin B. Kelly and Edward E. Kelly, all of Decatur. The body was removed to the Moran & Sons undertaking establishment and prepared for burial.
