CHINA GROVE - The funeral will be Saturday for Mae Camille Lyerly White McNeely, 96, formerly of China Grove, who died Wednesday (March 8, 2000) at Spencer Health Care Center, Spencer.
Born Feb. 24, 1904, in Rowan County, Mrs. McNeely was a daughter of the late David Luther and Lucy Jane Miller Lyerly. Educated in the Rowan County schools, she had retired from Cannon Mills' sheet department.
She was a member of Mount Moriah Lutheran Church, where she was active in the Sunday school and WELCA.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Reginald C. White, who died in 1938; her second husband, Robert E. McNeely, who died in 1978; a son, R.C. Adam White, and a stepson, Jim McNeely, who both died in 1996; and a stepdaughter, Margaret Beaver.
Survivors include stepdaughters Sadie Wilhelm, China Grove, and Sarah Witherspoon, Kannapolis; brother Carr Lyerly, Salisbury; sisters Bertha Peeler, Salisbury, and Nina Mathis, Greenwood, S.C.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Northcrest Chapel, Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home, China Grove, conducted by the Rev. Gene Peeler, Mount Moriah Lutheran Church. Burial, St. Peter's Lutheran Church cemetery, Salisbury.
