Lilla Ree Fair was the 1st child born to Effie Adora Brown and Arthur Harrison Fair. They lived at Dark Corners @ what later became Fort McClellan when she was born November 16, 1913. Mama's name was originaly 2 words but was combined into one on her birth certificate and grandmother left it that way. She had 1 sister Betty Ann Fair Newsome who did not arrive until mama was just shy of being 18 yrs old. She said she told grandmother she didn't want a sister then, she needed her when she was little. There were 5 brothers born between mama and Betty Ann. They were Hoyt, Willett, who died in infancy, Orris, Jack and Alfred Fair. Mama was 1st married to Othar Lee Baggett August 18, 1932. They had 3 children: Nellie Marie was born Jan. 9, 1935 and A.G. (Arthur George) was born April 5, 1938. Nellie was killed in 1941 getting off the school bus and mama NEVER got over Nellie being killed. I, Mary Ann, was born March 24, 1943 but mama and daddy divorced when I was only a couple months old. Mama then married Allen Melvin Miller of Wiley Ford, W.V. when he was stationed at Fort McClellan during World War II. They married July 4, 1946. Without Othar in my life, as to his own choice, Allen was like a daddy to me the rest of his life. Services were held at the Jacksonville Congregational Holiness Church, Jacksonville, Ala.. January 11, 1911 during the ice and snow storm that came that week. The preachers were Rev. Hollis Martin and Rev. William Strickland. She was survived by her children A.G. Baggett (Sandra) of Jacksonville, Mary Ann Baggett Ferguson (Richard) of Anniston, Allen Miller,Jr. (Jane) of Anniston and Wayne Miller of Georgia, 11 grandchildren: Marie Baggett Milner, Neil Baggett, Elaine Baggett Jones, Gerald Wayne Ferguson, Regina Suzanne Ferguson Pierson, Richard Shane Ferguson, Robert Allen Miller, Barry Miller, Marcus Miller, Stephen Miller, and Chanda Miller Hillman; 22 great grandchildren: Rachel Milner, Daniel Milner, Christopher Ferguson, Sarah Ferguson, Brianna, Colter and Bricota Ferguson, Joshua, Kristine and Brook McIntyre, Lawren, Breanna and Kimberly Hillman, Bobby Miller, LeeAnn Miller Chasteen, Erica and Celia Miller, Ashley and Marcus Miller, Ryan, Jacob and Miller, Joe Miller. She was preceded in death by both her husbands, her parents, a granddaughter Melissa Miller McIntyre and a great grandson Richard Colton Ferguson, Her brothers Hoyt, Willett, Orris, Jack and Alfred.

Mama was a very religeous person and was a great and wonderful worker in the church. She worked for 22 years at the Lee Champion Plant which was later known as Anniston Sportswear before moving to Marietta, Georgia and working with her brother Al in his "Fair Family restaurant" where she worked until she was 70 years old. They then moved to Leesburg, Ala. on the Coosa River where they lived some of their retirement years until the last few years and their children A.G. and Mary Ann moved them back to their original hometown of Jacksonville, Ala. Mama really loved Jesus her Saviour and told everybody about him. Mama was so greatly loved by her family and worlds of friends and is so greatly missed. Mama spent her last years cooking and having a garden which she really loved doing both. She was known for making Tea Cakes. She was also a wonderful cake and pie baker. Mama we miss you so much!! YOu were so involved in my life I am coping to live without you.
