She was born March 10, 1914, in Militofin, Ukraine, and came to Lorain in 1951. She moved to Michigan in 1995.

She worked as a housekeeper at St. Joseph Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1978.

She was a member of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the church's St. Mary Sisterhood.

Survivors include her son, Roman of Macon, Ga.; daughters Anna Hinkle of North Ridgeville and Helen Bogatschow of Portage, Mich.; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John, in 1983; and parents, Gustoff and Emma Halochin.

Friends may call Friday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 2:30 p.m. at Dovin Funeral Home, 2701 Elyria Ave., Lorain. The Rev. Vasyl Shtelen, pastor of St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
