Ralph S. Barnett, age 76, of the Buladean Community, Bakersville, NC, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN after an extended illness. He was born January 20, 1933 in Mitchell County the son of William and Julia Honeycutt Barnett. He had previously worked as a Truck Driver. Ralph was loved by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Barnett of Elizabethton, TN, son, Gary Wayne Barnett of Johnson City, TN, sister, Ruth Thompson of Spruce Pine, NC, brother, Henry Barnett of Johnson City, TN, two grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ernest Barnett of Christianburg, VA, sisters, Sylvia Street of Johnson CIty, TN, Carrie Lee Yelton of Bakersville, NC, Goldia Barnett of Elizabethton, TN, and three infant children.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 14, 2011 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Henline-Hughes Funeral Home in Bakersville, NC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. G.B. Garland and Tex Woody will be officiating the service. Interment will be in the Beans Creek Cemetery.
