Funeral service for Mr. Malcolm Pringle Rasco, age 89, of Nacogdoches will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday June 15, 2005, at Laird Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Sevar officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Rasco passed away Sunday June 12, 2005, in Nacogdoches. Born January 4, 1916, in Bullard, Texas, he was the son of Martha Ann Shoemaker and Malcolm M. Rasco. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Rasco worked as a pipe fitter until his retirement in 1981. He was a member the Masonic Lodge, Pipe Fitters Local 597 and the Nacogdoches Senior Center. Mr. Rasco was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church and an honored member of the Friendship Men's Sunday School Class. Survivors include son Roger C. Rasco of Montgomery, Texas; and daughter and son-in-law Carolyn and Jerre Fillmore of Floresville, Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, David Bellot, Wendy Zuber, Jim Bellot, Tina Truax, Kurtis Truax and Marc Truax; and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Rasco was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters. Active pallbearers will be David Bellot, Jim Bellot, Kurtis Truax, Dean Cherry, Bob Wright and Marc Truax. Honorary pallbearers will be Lydia Dillon, Estelle Worsham, Dena White, Ruth Smith, Wendy Zuber and Tina Truax. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association Greater East Texas Chapter, P.O. Box 630636, Nacogdoches, Texas 75963-0636. The family will receive friends 5 until 7 p.m. today. Laird Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
