Leonard Wesley 'Slim' Farmer, 78, of 1364 Wheeler Road in Matoaka, died Thursday, March 17, 2005 at his residence.

Born December 28, 1926 in Rock, he was the son of the late Sherman and Josie Howell Farmer. He was a retired truck driver for Bailey Lumber Company in Matoaka.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Estelle Casey Farmer; one daughter, Mary Lee Kish Tabor; seven brothers, Franklin Farmer, Edward Farmer, Joe Farmer, Tiny Farmer, Raymond Farmer, Clyde Farmer and Harrison Farmer; and two sisters, Pearl Farmer and Wilma Farmer, preceded him in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Linda Hutchens and husband Bill of Matoaka with whom he made his home; five sons, Mark Farmer and wife Janet and Johnny Farmer and wife Denise, all of Matoaka, William Kish and wife Rebecca and Gerald Kish and wife Lorraine, all of Lashmeet, and Timothy Kish and wife Sheila of Davenport, Fla.; fourteen grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Garnet Thompson of Princeton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2005 at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Jill Dishner officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.

Serving as pallbearers will be Phillip Kish, Michael Kish, William Kish Jr., Johnny Farmer, Jr., Chad Hutchens and Jeremy Farmer. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. today.
