Charles Ray Buhlig, 73, of Roodhouse, passed away Tuesday (Feb. 22, 2000) in White Hall Multicare Center following an extended illness. Mr. Buhlig was born near Oxville, Scott County, on July 12, 1926, the ninth child, fourth son, of Henry "Mike" and Bertha Sophie Albers Buhlig

He was a World War II veteran, having served in the Navy, Pacific Theater.

From his first marriage, the following children survive, James R. (wife, Diane) Buhlig and Debra J. Buhlig, of Jacksonville; Daniel R. Buhlig of Nashville, Tenn.; Nancy Stice, Christine (husband, Leonard) Woodrum, Robert P. Buhlig and Regina (husband, Daniel) Glossop, all of Winchester. There are two grandsons, seven granddaughters and one grandson deceased.

In 1968 he married Louise Rawlins in Springfield. She survives, as do the following children, Dirk R. Buhlig of Decatur; Tadd B. (wife, Tabatha) Buhlig of White Hall; Clark C. Buhlig of Lubbock, Texas; Gretchen L. Buhlig of Roodhouse; two grandchildren. Brothers and sisters surviving are: Howard Buhlig, Opal Gregory and Bernice Bridgman, all of Bluffs; Donald Buhlig and Hazel Heitbrink of Meredosia; Helen Dunham of Byron; William Buhlig of Albany; Jean Bowman of Yuba City, Calif.; Wayne Buhlig of Fort Collins, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lee, and a sister, Maxine.
