Nicolaas Aalbers, 89, of Alton, died March 18 at an Orange City hospital.

Services were help at 1:30 P.M. March 20 in the First Reformed Church in Alton. The Rev. Clarence Greving officiated. Burial was in Nassau Township Cemetery with the Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City in charge.

Mr. Aalbers was born March 21, 1886 in the Netherlands. He moved to the United States in 1906. He married Johanna Buurman Feb 26, 1911 in Orange City. They farmed in the Alton vicinity. He was a member of the Alton First Reformed Church. Mrs. Aalbers died Nov. 18, 1973.

Survivors include a daughter, Miss Diana M. Aalbers of Alton; two sons, Marion "Max" of Latimer and E.J. "Bud" of Alton; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
