Ira W. 'Orville' Finnegan, 80, Imler, died Sun., Jan. 9, 2011 at the Van Zandt VA Medical Center. He was born in Kimmel Twp. to Humphrey Tate Finnegan & Hattie Pearl (Helsel) Finnegan Walter. He married Betty L. Kensinger on April 18, 1955, in Winchester, Va. Survived by wife; son, Stanley G. & wife, Cindy; 2 granddaughters: Valerie J. Finnegan and Kylee L. Barry & husband, Richard; 2 grandsons: Kirk R. Finnegan and Corey W. Finnegan & wife, Brenda; 2 step grandchildren: Nicole Hileman and Ami Johnsonbaugh; 4 gr. grandchildren: Shaunna, Tyler and Parker Finnegan and Sophie Barry; 4 step gr. grandchildren: Logan Mowery, Camden and Owen Hileman and Bryson Fether; and nieces & nephews. Predeceased by sisters: Ethel Dively and Atlanda 'Hon' Weyant; and brother, Henry F. 'Jim'. Ira was a 1951 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. Corp., U.S. Army, serving in Germany during the Korean War from Feb. 12, 1952, to Jan. 19, 1954. He was employed at Queen Lumber Co.; Buckeye Pipe Line in Albany, NY and Blue Knob State Park; then and as a cook at Peggy's Diner, Claysburg; Howard Johnson Restaurant in Duncansville; Sheraton Hotel in Altoona and Lynn's Restaurant in East Freedom. He retired from Clara's Place at Hoss's Best Western, Bedford. Member, Bedford Bible Church; American Culinary Federation; Southern Alleghenies Chefs Assn. and American Legion Post 113, Bedford. Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Interment, Greenfield Cemetery.
