ASHEVILLE – Nancy Lowe, 88, formerly of Maple Crescent, died Monday, January 10, 2011.
A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late James H. Parris Sr. and Shirley Davis Parris. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl D. Lowe, who died August 3, 1991.
Mrs. Lowe was a former Miss Asheville, and an instructor of ballroom dancing in N.J. She was an active craftsperson, including crocheting and basket weaving. She was also an active member of the Candler House of Prayer.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Revs. Malcolm McCarson and Chuck Waldrup officiating. Interment will follow at Green Hills Cemetery.
