Elected to represent California's 22nd and 29th Districts in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1943 to 1957. Also served as a Member of the California State Assembly from 1932 to 1936, Member of the California State Senate from 1936 to 1942, and Delegate to the Republican National Convention from California in 1944.
