Stanley J. Bliss, 77, of North Port, FL, formerly of Milan, died April 14, 1996 at Riverside Convalescent Home in Newport News, Virginia. Mr. Bliss was born February 2, 1919 in Milan, MI, the son of the late Claude Bliss and Imoe Belle Cheeseman. In June 1941, he married Frances B. Greashaber at Marble Memorial United Methodist Church in Milan and she survives. After graduating from Milan High School in 1937, he worked as an electrician for 37 years at Ford Motor Company, Dearborn, Michigan plant, retiring in 1974. He was a former resident of Ypsilanti and Hamburg, MI before moving to North Port 20 years ago. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, North Port, BPO Elks Lodge No. 2153, Port Charlotte, Harbor Cove Boat Club, Harbor Cove Civic Association and Florida Mobile Home Owners. Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter, and three special cousins. Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 18 at Charlotte Memorial Funeral Home, Punta Florida. Burial took place in Charlotte Memorial Gardens, Punta Gorda. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church 4285 Wesley Lane, North Port 34287.
