James Dolas Ware, 73, of El Dorado, died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Life Touch's John R. Williamson Hospice House following a brief illness.

Born on Sept. 2, 1935, in El Dorado, he was the son of C.O. "Jack" and Edna Mae Carter Ware. Dolas's 39-year career with Lion Oil Refinery began as an operator and member of the Operating Engineer Union, and ended as superintendent of the asphalt plant. He enjoyed singing with the Three Creeks Quartet, along with camping, hunting, and fishing. A loving father and grandfather, he enjoyed cheering on and encouraging his children and grandchildren in their many activities. He had served as a deacon at Three Creeks Baptist Church, and participated in many mission trips to Mississippi, Montana, Indiana, Illinois and Brazil.

Dolas was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jackie Ware and Jimmy Ware.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at Three Creeks Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church's cemetery.
