Mrs. Madelon Mozell Proctor Rang, 94 of Blackshear, passed away Friday morning, January 7, 2011, at the Baptist Village Nursing Home.

Born in Blackshear on October 22, 1916, she had lived in Houston, Texas for many years before moving to back to Blackshear in 1993. Mrs. Rang was retired from the IRS and was a US Navy veteran having served during World War II. She was an avid golfer, loved to travel and was a proud Texan. Mrs. Rang was also a member of the Red Hatters and the Blackshear First United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Charles Walter & Martha Crawford Proctor and was also preceded in death by her husband, Captain Robert K. Rang.

Survivors are eight nieces, Louise (Charles) Conley of St. Marys, Jean Riggins (who was also her caregiver) of Blackshear, Joan (Jim) Bugos of Christmas, FL, Ruth & Dave Esmonde of Snellville, Betty Proctor of Valdosta, Jeanette Proctor of Charlotte, NC, Marty (Frank) Morris of Jasper and Patricia Henderson of Dallas, GA; five nephews, George (Helen) Proctor of Heathsville, VA, Jim (Lois) Proctor of Blackshear, Joe (Patty) Proctor of Manchester, GA and David Proctor and Kenneth Proctor both of Tucker, GA; several great nieces, nephews & other relatives.

Visitation:
Visitation for Mrs. Rang will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Service:
Funeral services for Mrs. Rang will be held Thursday afternoon, January 13, 2011, at 2:00 o'clock from the First United Methodist Church.

Cemetery:
Interment will be in the Arlington National Cemetery in Alexandria, VA at a later date.
