Kitty was born March 29, 1938, in Boise City, Okla. She was raised in Clayton, N.M., where she graduated from Clayton High School. After moving to Amarillo, she attended Northwest Texas Hospital School of nursing and later received her BSN from West Texas A&M University. She was an avid collector of cooking utensils and was a firm believer that "Whoever dies with the most cooking gadgets wins." She got great joy from traveling across the U.S. in their motor home with her best friend, Nancy Schnell. She loved and supported the fine arts, and was especially fond of great music. Kitty was a member of Saint Stephen United Methodist Church.
