D'IBERVILLE -- Oliver J. ''Painter'' Faurie, 82, died Thursday, Jan. 14, 1999.

Mr. Faurie was born in New Orleans and had been a resident of Ocean Springs and Biloxi for most of his life. He was a self-employed painter and served in the Army infantry during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria A. Faurie; eight daughters, Connie Pickich, Myrtle Rose Eley, Helen White, Tammy Lynn Wilson and Melanie Fletcher, all of Biloxi, Gloria Broome of Clinton, Cynthia Bennett of Houston, Texas, and Ethel Faurie Bosarge of D'Iberville; two sons, Mark Bennett of D'Iberville and Morris Faurie of Biloxi; a sister, Rita Faurie of Bay St. Louis; 50 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A procession will then leave the funeral home at 11:10 for an 11:30 a.m. graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery.
