Travis E. Deal, 60, of Freedom passed away at the Bloomington Hospital Tuesday, December 28, 2010. He was born in Van Wert, Ohio on May 14, 1950 to George and Norma (Kouts) Deal. Mr. Deal was employed as a Senior Engineering Technician at Boston Scientific. Travis loved to read, play golf, entertain and cook for family and friends, and visiting Civil War battlefields. He also enjoyed the outdoors.
Mr. Deal is survived by his wife of 37 years, Nancy (Jared) Deal; daughters, Whitney Deal, Shelby Deal and Courtney Deal all at home; brothers, Jeff (Leann) Deal and Jon Deal (Claudia Chastain) all of Valparaiso, IN and Don (Rachelle) Deal of Winter Springs, Fl and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 31, 2010 at Shiloh Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on St. Rd. 67 North, Spencer. Pastor Diane Wells will officiate. Friends may call at the church 4-8 p.m., Thursday, and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Owen County Humane Society.
