John Clifton Terry was born June 23, 1880 to Jasper Newton Terry (1834-1908) of Illinois and Mary Ann "Polly Ann" James (1843-1907) of Bedford County, Virginia. In 1899 he married Bertha Bloomer (1879-1920), daughter of Edward Dexter Bloomer (1854-1935) and Mary Isabelle Sirrine (1859-1933). John died on April 19, 1935 (aged 54) in Torrance, Los Angeles, California. His body was buried in City of Mesa Cemetery, Section 239, Lot 2, Grave 2 in Mesa, Maricopa County, Arizona beside Bertha. His known children include: Bertha Ann Terry, George Clifton Terry, Helen G. Terry, Della A. Terry and Esther May Terry
