-- CHESTER - The funeral for Mr. James D. "Jimmy" Ross of 638 Stamie Drive was conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 30, at Trinity Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Rick Wheeler officiated and burial followed in Chester Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Ross, 74, died Friday, June 27, 2008, at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia.

Born in Fort Mill, he was a son of the late Arthur Furman and Mary Janette Shedd Ross Williams. A member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, where he served as a deacon, Mr. Ross attended school in Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries with 42 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Wood Ross; a daughter, Patricia Ross Jones of Chester; a brother, Bobby R. Ross of Fort Mill; two grandchildren, Michelle Jones of Chester and Jennifer Jones Campbell of Sharon; and one great-grandson, Aedyn Ellis of Chester.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Great Falls Highway, Chester.

Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, was in charge of arrangements.
