John D. Burdick of Evart, Michigan, entered eternal life on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Spectrum Health – Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was 83 years old.

John was born March 31, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan, to Howard E. Burdick and Pearl I. Gleichmann. On April 9, 1949, he married Lenore Rasmussen in Detroit, and she preceded him in death in 2000. He then married Anna Marie Colton in 2002 in Evart.

John was a photographer for 35 years and also did custodial work for Birmingham Schools. He retired to Evart in July of 1991.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Burdick of Evart; three sons, John D. Burdick Jr. and wife, Janet A., of Sears, Howard E. Burdick and wife, Lois M., of Texas and Kenneth Anselmi and wife, Linda, of North Carolina; one daughter, Cindy Eastman and husband, Allen, of Evart; one brother, William H. Burdick of Daphne, Ala.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Pearl, and his first wife, Lenore, in 2000.

Visitation: Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart.

Funeral services: Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Grand Lawn Cemetery in Detroit.

Interment: Grand Lawn Cemetery
