CHARLES E. ONEAL DIED HERE FRIDAY

Succumbs to Stroke After Recovering from Seige of Pneumonia

C. E. ONeal, a resident of Winterset since 1925, died at the Winterset hospital last Friday after a brief illness. He had just recovered from a long siege of pneumonia and had been out of the hospital but a few days when he suffered a stroke that quickly proved fatal. He was 57 years of age.

Mr. ONeal was the son of Lair and Marie ONeal, and was born at Woodburn on Nov. 28, 1882. He was married on June 16, 1907, to Miss Lettie May, who survives him.

In 1909 he moved with his family to Orient, remaining there until 1925, when he came to Winterset. He was a blacksmith by trade.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul and Darrell, both at home; three daughters, Mrs. Marvin Jones of Lorimor, Mrs. Clyde Abrahams of Keokuk, and Olive at home; five grandchildren; his aged mother in Osceola; three brothers, Will ONeal of Osceola, John ONeal of Scott City, Kan., and Lloyd ONeal of Marshalltown; and four sisters, Lulu ONeal of Osceola, Mrs. Jennie Robey of Osceola, Mrs. Carl Hill of Indianola, and Mrs. Don Boggs of Weldon.

Funeral services were held Sunday from the Anderson home for funerals, in charge of the Rev. J. R. McNichols, pastor of the Winterset Methodist church. Burial was made at Woodburn.
