POCA, Sept. 9-(Special)-Brenda Joyce Asbury, four-year-old daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Lonnie Emory Asbury of Poca, was fatally injured today when hit by a car in front of the home of her grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Okel Higginbotham of this Putnam County town.
Brenda and her grandparents were returning from a Sunday walk when the accident occurred. She stepped in front of a car driven by Silas Dailey, Jr., of Bancroft just as Mr. Higginbotham released his hand to wave at Mr.Dailey.
No charges have been placed against Mr.Dailey.
Other survivors include a sister, Barbara, who lives with her paternal grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Armie D Asbury of Liberty.

ASBURY, Brenda Joyce-Service was at noon at the residence of Phenia Higginbotham, Sissonville, with Rev. Warren Anderson officiating. Burial was at the Perry Higginbotham Cemetery on Trace Fork with Gatens Mortuary of Poca in charge. The four-year-old child was killed by an automobile Sunday afternoon.
