Guilliam Hanks Given Last Rites – CROWLEY, LA – Last rites were conducted at 9 a.m. today in St. Michael’s Catholic Church for Guilliam Hanks, 61 year-old Crowley carpenter who died at 2:40 a.m. Sunday. Burial today was in Woodlawn Catholic cemetery. Mr. Hanks was a resident of 826 South Ave. F at the time of his death. Born in Morse on July 10, 1896, he had been a resident of Crowley for the past 10 years. Mr. Hanks was a veteran of World War I and a member of Acadia American Legion Post 15. The post conducted military rites at the cemetery this morning. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Olive Quibodeaux Hanks of Crowley; two sons, Irving E. Hanks and Carl J. Hanks, both of Lafayette; seven daughters, Mrs. Talton Saltzman, Mrs. Charles Redlich, Mrs. Robert John, and Miss Alice Rae Hanks, all of Crowley, Mrs. Percy Armentor of Lake Charles, Mrs. Willard Sterling of Beaumont, Tex., and Miss Myrtle L. Hanks of New Orleans; one brother, Philibert Hanks of Morse; two sisters, Miss Odita Hanks and Miss Domatild Hanks, both of Morse; and 20 grandchildren. The Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.
