Susan Frost Ford Garner

SHREVEPORT -
Susan Frost Ford Garner known to her family and friends as "NUNU" died of a
lengthy illness on October 21, 2000 at Willis-Knighton South. Susan, a life-long
resident of Shreveport, was born December 21, 1953. Memorial services, following
a private interment at Forest Park, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday,
October 24, 2000 at St. Mark's Cathedral with the Very Reverend M.L. Agnew
officiating. Family and friends will be celebrating Susan's life immediately
following the service at her great Grandparents home, now the Randall T. Moore
Senior Citizens Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Osborn Funeral
Home.

Susan graduated from St. Vincent's Academy in 1971. She attended
Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana and Centenary College. Susan was the
youngest person ever in the state of Louisiana to obtain her Broker's license
from the Louisiana State Board of Realtor's in 1972. She obtained her Graduate
of the Realtors Institute III in 1973. She served as project manager for Thomas
S. Mackie, Inc. of Dallas, Texas from 1979-1980. Susan was the co-owner of D & G
Construction Company until the death of her husband in 1985. Susan served as
Zoning Administrator for the Shreveport Metropolitan Planning Commission from
1988 until 1995. She served on the Board of Directors for All South Consultants,
Inc. from 1986 until her death. She was a member of Saint Mark's Cathedral, The
Colonial Dames, Shreveport-Bossier Board of Realtors, American Horse Show
Association, and the Welsh Pony Association of Louisiana.

She was preceded in
death by her paternal grandparents, Frank H. Ford, Sr. and Amanda Taylor Ford,
maternal grandparents, Charles Huffman Lewis, Sr., and Jen Moore Lewis, her
parents William F. Ford, Sr., and Susan Lewis Ford, her uncle Charles Huffman
Lewis, Jr., and husband Gregory Wayne Garner.

Susan is survived by her
brother William F. Ford, Jr., Aunt Dot Ford Disosway and husband General Gabe
Disosway, Uncle Frank H. Ford and wife Sue, Aunt Marilyn Lewis Whitehurst,
cousins: Betsy Louise Ford, Amanda Ford McFarland, Catherine Sheperd, Judy
Disosway Malone, John Disosway, Great Aunt Martha J. Moore, Godmother Martha Ann
Evans, Mother-in-law Ilene Garner Brill, step-daughter Rachel Garner Fetty,
cousins Charles Huffman Lewis III, Janie Lewis, God Daughter Kathleen Cody
Adger.

Susan had a generous spirit and a kind heart. She leaves a host of
friends that includes honorary pallbearers Karla Fulton of Choudrant, Louisiana,
Sylvia A. Adger of Dixie, Louisiana, Shannon Conner Dumolt of Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma, Bill McElroy of Henderson, Texas, Soloman Paul Abdo III of San
Antonio, Texas, Ione Friend Dean, Margaret Braun, Barbara Jarrell, and Nan
Grogan, all of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Pallbearers will be D. Karl Fulton of
Ruston, Louisiana, Neil Mott of Oakridge, Louisiana, Christopher Coleman of San
Antonio, Texas, James A. Brewer of Dallas, Texas, James Gordon Adger of Dixie,
Louisiana, Charles Kirkland and Mike Roberts of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Family
and friends would like to thank the staff of Wllis Knighton South for their
generous support and kindness. Memorials may be made to Louisiana Public
Broadcasting or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals.
