Margaret E. Ruddy
Margaret E. Ruddy, 94, formerly of 529 7th Ave. S., died Saturday in the Alverno. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Anthony Herold officiating. A 10 a.m. prayer service in Schmitz Funeral Home will precede the Mass. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be until 9 p.m. today, with a joint rosary by Daughters of Isabella and Catholic Order of Foresters recited at 3 p.m. and a St. Mary's Parish Rosary recited at 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be John and James Smith, William J. and Kevin Ruddy, Edward Allan and Andrew Solwinski.
Mrs. Ruddy was born Sept. 15, 1888, in Clinton, to John F. and Mary Ann Sheppard McGinty. She married William F. Ruddy on Dec. 28, 1915, in Clinton. He died Aug. 26, 1979. She graduated with music honors from St. Mary's High School and was a St. Mary's church organist for 50 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Daughter of Isabella and Catholic Order of Foresters.
Survivors include Mrs. Joe (Margie) Brown of Charlotte; a son, Wiliam G. Ruddy of Clinton; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons and two brothers.
