Funeral services for Abe Martin, 86, of Baxter, were held Sunday at Hooper and Huddleston Funeral Home. Tom O'Neal, Murfreesboro Church of Christ minister, officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Baxter.
Mr. Martin suffered a heart attack at the home of a son, Abe Martin Jr., in Woodbury Friday and died early
Saturday in Woodbury hospital.
A native of Putnam County, he was the son of the late John Vance and Caroline Hickey Martin. He was a retired timber buyer and lumber company employee. Mr. Martin lived at Baxter until two years ago when he moved to Woodbury to reside with his son. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include son, Brad Martin, Baxter; a brother, James K. Martin, of Nashville and five grandchildren.
