In Robertson's "Landmarks of Toronto A Collection of Sketches of the old Town of York From 1792 until 1893, and of Toronto from 1834 to 1893", Published from The Toronto "Evening Telegram, Toronto: J. Ross Robertson. 1894. Vol I page 444, also see the south end of the building picture next to the Mechanic's Institute on page 399. From Page 444 titled "A Church Street Building"... Robertson tells that John Wilson had in his building on Church Street a Saloon and a Candy store, the Saloon being in the South end of the building and the Candy store in the North end. With references to Lord Elgin and the Corn riots.. See the Chapter... much more

Died: In this city, on the 8th instant, at his late residence corner of
King and Sumach streets, Mr. John Wilson, in the 58th year of his age.
The funeral will take place on Tuesday, the 10th instant, at 4 o'clock.
The members of L.O.L. No. 621 will please take notice.
