JOPLIN, MO — Billie Ruth Sharp, age 69, Joplin, passed away on Friday, Jan. 07, 2011, at Freeman West Hospital. Billie was born April 10, 1941, in Joplin, daughter of the late Floyd Phillips and Dora Derrick Phillips. She graduated from Joplin High School and most recently was working with the Webb City Health and Rehab, retiring in 2007. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Sharp, who died Oct. 7, 2010; two sisters, Betty DeMoss and Harriet Rustin; and a grandson, Nathan Bateman. Survivors include her daughters, Kim Epperson and husband, Lonnie, and Tricia Sharp; grandson, Joshua Bateman; brother, Floyd Phillips Jr.; and sister, Carolyn Pruett, all of Joplin. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 7 to 8 p.m. Inurnment of her ashes, along with her husband's, Lonnie Sharp, and grandson's, Nathan Bateman, will be Wednesday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. in Osborne Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Bob Simon officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
