--The funeral for Mrs. Debbie Kennedy Robinson of 4884 Tanglewood Road will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Mount Vernon AME Zion Church. The Rev. J.E. Johnson will officiate and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
--Mrs. Robinson, 50, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Providence Hospital in Columbia.
--Born in Chester County on Dec. 7, 1958, she was a daughter of the late William Kennedy and Margaret McCrorey Kennedy. Mrs. Robinson joined Rossville AME Zion Church at a young age and later became a member of Mount Vernon AME Zion Church, where she sang with the hymn choir, served as a deaconess and was active with Missionary and Yams. She attended the public schools of Chester County and was formerly employed with Springs Industries and General Tire of Charlotte.
--Survivors include a daughter, Carmilla A. Jackson and her husband, Charles, of the home; five brothers, William Kennedy Jr. and his wife, Audrey, and Raymond Kennedy, all of Greensboro, Robin Kennedy of Edgemoor, Calvin Kennedy and his wife, Lisa, of Lancaster and Tyrone Kennedy of Blackstock; a sister, Tammy Crane and her husband, Michael, of Blackstock; a goddaughter, Shambreka Caldwell of Great Falls; her mother-in-law, Mae B. Robinson of Richburg; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; and a number of aunts and uncles.
--She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Thomas Robinson; and a daughter, Latita Nicole Robinson.
--Viewing will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday at King's Funeral Home, 135 Cemetery St., Chester.
--The family will receive friends at the home, 4884 Tanglewood Road, Blackstock.
--King's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
