Mrs. Margaret Lelia Saunders, widow of Richard A. Saunders and daughter of the late James Harrison and Mrs. Margaret Keeling Sammons, a native of lifelong resident of Norfolk, died Monday at 8 a.m. at the residence, 715 Raleigh Avenue. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elizabeth Saunders Owens; two granddaughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Owens Morris and Mrs. Margaret Owens Green; one great-grandson, Shelby Meredith Green, all of Norfolk, and two nieces, Mrs. E.J. Rudgard Wigg, of Norfolk, and Mrs. Burton W. Chippendale, of Ithica, N.Y. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. by the Rev. Thomas F. Carroll, D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
