Silas Hoyt Dead

PROVO, Dec 11 - Silas Hoyt died last evening from old age and general debility, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Rachel H. Jolley of the Third ward. He was born ninety years ago in Maine and came to Utah in 1830. He later moved to Southern California and made his home there for thirty years, afterward returning to Southern Utah, where he lived till a year ago when he came to Provo. He had another daughter, Mrs. Mary E. Hicks, living in Kanab. Funeral services will be held in the Third ward meeting house at a time not yet fixed. The body will be taken to Ogden for burial.

Father Silas Hoyt who died in Provo, December 10, in his 94th year was buried yesterday in the North Ogden cemetery, a sister of his (Grandma Judkins), reposes in the same cemetery and several relatives here survive him.
