Born Stephanie Williams in Brooklyn, she moved with her family to West Brighton in 1990.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Floyd took care of her son, granddaughter and other neighborhood children who needed her care. Family members frequently referred to her as a domestic engineer.
In addition to taking care of children, Mrs. Floyd had a deep interest in reading.
She was a member of the Shiloh A.M.E. Zion Church, West Brighton.
"My mother will go directly to the Lord, for on Him she can depend," said her son, Levon Williams.
In addition to her son and granddaughter, Mrs. Floyd is survived by her husband, Elmer Floyd; one brother, Jimmy Williams; and one sister, Sandra Williams.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday in the Virginia Funeral Home, Stapleton, at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, New Jersey.
