BAXTER – Funeral services for Arthur Kirby Birdwell, 73, of Baxter, will be held Tuesday, October 4, at 2 p.m., in the Chapel of Baxter Funeral Home. There will be a Masonic service tonight at 7 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mr. Birdwell died Sunday, October 2, 1994, in Cookeville General Hospital.
Born in Putnam County on March 22, 1921, he was the son of the late Thomas W. and Emma Kirby Birdwell.
Mr. Birdwell was the owner of Birdwell Repair Garage. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #266 and Scottish Rite. He attended Double Springs Baptist Church.
His family includes his wife, Mae Lowe Birdwell of Baxter; one soninlaw, Fred Mahan Jr. of Baxter; one brother, Earl Lee Birdwell of Talladega, AL; one sister, Edna Patton Wallen of Warren, MI; two grandchildren, Timothy Birdwell Mahan and Patricia Destellanna Mahan Leftwich; and
one grandsoninlaw, Lanny Leftwich Jr.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Anna Kaye Birdwell Mahan; one sister, Addie Bell Roberts; and seven brothers, Jess, Lewis, Marvin, Darl, Doyle, Charlie, and Joe T. Birdwell.
