Philip H. Elliott, 68, of Rt. 1, Bonaparte, died at 7:35 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 26, 1992 at Burlington Medical Center.
Born June 12, 1923, near Keosauqua, he was the son of Finley S. and Bernice Tyler Elliott. He married Irma Stecker June 2, 1946 in the Harrisburg Church, north of Bonaparte.
He was a 1941 graduate of Bonaparte High School. He drove a gasoline truck for the Big Three Farm Service Co. for two years and had farmed in the Harrisburg Township for 46 years.
He was a member of the Harrisburg Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon, trustee and treasurer. He had served on the board of Farmers Coop at Bonaparte for six years and had been a Farm Bureau director.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Roger Elliott of Glen Ellen, CA; one daughter, Karen Burwash of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother, Richard Elliott of Memphis, TN.; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Friends may call as they desire after noon Saturday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Keosauqua.
The funeral for Mr. Elliott will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Harrisburg Baptist Church, north of Bonaparte, with the Revs. David Doerr and Dallas Roark officiating. Burial will be in Vale Cemetery, near the church.
