Doris Jenkins Gauley, a nurse and homemaker, died Friday of emphysema at Northshore Regional Medical Center. She was 56. Mrs. Gauley was born in Memphis, Tenn., and lived in Slidell for the past 40 years. She was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Samuel E. Gauley; three sons, Heath Joseph Lorenz, Alan E. Gauley and John Christopher Morris Sr.; three daughters, Jodi Lyn Ridley, Betty Sue Gauley Scogin and Catherine Gauley; her mother, Charlotte Jenkins Babb of Memphis; her stepfather, Cham Babb Jr. of Memphis; two brothers, Douglas C. Jenkins and Coleman F. Jenkins Jr.; a sister, Catherine J. Porter; and 15 grandchildren. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at Honaker Funeral Home, 1751 Gause Blvd. West, Slidell. Visitation will begin at noon. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Slidell.
