OBITUARY: Gertrude 'Trudy' Marie Taylor

Gertrude "Trudy" Marie Taylor, 85, resident of Rutledge, Ala., died on Jan. 7, 2011.

She was born on March 17, 1925 in Germany.

Survivors include her three daughters, Diane Gail Mitchell, Valerie Ann Sharpe and Monica June Crowell; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Mitchell, Stephanie Anne Mitchell, Sherrill Lynn Mitchell, Julie Gail Mitchell, Sondra Davenport, John Richard Lewis, Angela Nicole Lewis, Megan Hudson; two great-grandchildren, Tabitha Gail Mitchell and Michael William Mitchell; five brothers and sisters, Kurt Hoh, Edith Aiken, Charlotte Hess, Ernst Hoh and Hannelore Ortega.

Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Taylor, Jr., and her parents, Ernst and Marie Hoh.

There was a small "Celebration of Life" held at the Mitchell home in Blythe on Jan. 11, 2011. The family also received friends at Turner Funeral Home in Alabama on Jan. 12, 2011 for a time of remembrance.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday January 12, 2011 from 5 pm until 7 pm for a time of rememberance.
