Selena Barton (reportedly nicknamed "Blacky") was the daughter of Millington and Nancy Barton. She married William Elias Turner (b. 30 Jul 1874 in Greenville County, SC; died 08 May 1926 in Pickens County, SC). They had five daughters and two sons. William is reportedly buried at Secona Baptist Church Cemetery, Pickens County, SC.

According to the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census reports, they had the following children: Nora Sally b.1903; Ethel I. b.1906; Ruth B. b.1907; Laura E. b.1914; Richard B. b.1917; James William b. 1925.
