Ex-area resident kiilled by bulldozer

A 37-year old former resident of this area, father of four, was killed Friday morning at a disposal transfer station in Roxbury, Mass., when he was run over by a bulldozer he was operating.

Roland Atkinson, (Clifford Jr.) of 61 Steuben St., Bridgeport, Conn., manager and supervisor of the di sposal transfer system for Jet-A-Way Inc., was pinned under the vehicle he was operating. It was assumed he brought the vehicle to a stop, got off to look at something and thevehicle moved, pinning him beneath.

A native of Lorain, Mr. Atkinson had lived in Elyria and Oberlin before moving to Bridgeport, Conn. three years ago.

Surviving are his wife, Gloria, nee Wilson, a son, Rolando Jr. and three daughters, Tina, Rene and Danielle, all at home;; his mother, Mrs. Nettie Lemeley of Oberliln; his father, Clifford Atkinson of Elyria; two brothers, LaMont Atkinson and William Lemeley Jr., both of Akron; a sister, Mrs. Darlene Jeter of Dorchester, Mass. and a grandmother, Mrs. Floyd Whitworth, Elyria.

Friends will be received tomorrow 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Home, Lorain.

The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Babptitt Church, Lorain with the Rev. C.W. Kendricks officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
