Architect. He was noted for "humanistic" style, stressing affinity between architecture and nature, and subtle interplay of form, light, and materials. He designed Baker House at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1947) and the conference room at Institute of International Education in New York City (1964). He was a research professor at M.I.T. from 1946 to 1948, and member of Academy of Finland.
