Debe was born in Millersburg, on Nov. 2, 1964, to Beulah (Smith) Mike, and was a 1983 graduate of North Marion High School in Farmington, W.Va. She attended nursing school, and worked as an independent home health aide in Wayne and Holmes counties.
She married Michael McVay on Nov. 4, 1996. He survives.
Debe loved cooking, camping, swimming and spending time with her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are children, Joshua David Mike of Wooster, Shawna Mae McVay and Joseph Allen Michael McVay, both of the home; stepchildren, Joshua Edward (Tariel) McVay, Jacob Michael McVay and Shelby Katherine McVay; granddaughters, Rylie Anne McVay and Aaliaha Courtwright; her mother, Beulah Mike of Big Prairie; a brother, Tony Miller of Louisville, Ky.; her mother-in-law, Betty McVay of Fredericksburg; very special aunts and uncles, Billie (Daisy) Mike and Jessie Mike, both of Mannington, W.Va.; uncles, Bob Smith of Wooster, Denny Smith of Shreve and John Smith Jr. of Glenmont; aunts, Dorothy (Leonard) Nuckols of Wooster, Patricia (Frank) Riggle of Strasburg, Karen Stough of Wooster and Alyce (David) Garnes of Nashville; many cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many friends. She will also be missed by her boxer, Shadow.
She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny V. Mike; a brother, Michael Todd Miller; maternal grandparents, John Smith and Ruth Kinney; and her father-in-law, Manley McVay.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg, with Pastor Randy Kemper officiating. Private burial will be in Nashville Cemetery.
Friends may call from noon-3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made at any PNC Bank.
