ALLEN ABRAHAM
1927 - 2010

Salem - Allen Dethman Abraham, 83, of Salem, passed away December 26 in Corvallis from pancreatic cancer.

He was born in Albany, Oregon to Julius and Jessie (Dethman) Abraham, February 20, 1927. Allen grew up in North Albany and attended High School in Hood River and Corvallis.

He enlisted in the Marines during WW2 and returned to Corvallis to attend OSU where he received his degree in geology. He worked at the Bureau of Mines and OREMET in Albany.

He married Gayle Skidmore December 21, 1949 and raised 6 children on the family farm. In February 1975, he married Edith Templar from Salem who passed away in 2005. He became close friends with Eileen Patten of Salem and helped care for her until her passing. Her daughter Doris Patten, has remained close, and helped with Allen's care toward the end of his life. Allen became close friends with Irene Banks of Salem, and they cared for each other until his passing.

Allen is survived by 5 children; Dick, Laura(Berlin), Robert, Larry and Marty; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and preceded in death by his son Chris in 1984.

A celebration of his life will be held on January 8th, 2:00pm, at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service at 605 Commercial St SE, Salem.

Donations to his memory are encouraged to the North Palestine Cemetery in North Albany. Arrangements by Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
